Its been a while PART TWO

Here is a very special picture. A small child fell into a river and was instantly set upon by hordes of scaled creatures. The locals refer to them as "fish". Apparently they are in most of the waterways in Thailand! Parents, you have been warned.

Peter is seen here with what scientists have called "The ULTIMATE Farmers Tan". The angry angry red of the fore arm is perfectly balanced against the shining milky whiteness of the upper arm. Also, this only happened on one arm. Truly a work of art.

Although we may be turning RED around the edges, we manage to prove that ethnically at least, we are the whitest people in the world.

This cat is awesome. It lives in the Sawadee Guesthouse and follows me everywhere. Cute you think? Peter is allergic to cats though. It had him trapped in a corridor one day and I had to rescue the cat from peter running at it screaming "GOOOO AWAY NASTY FELINE!!!!"
I found a way onto the fire escape. All I will say is highjinx ensued...
IRELAND CAKE!!!!! I bought this not for the taste, which was foul, but for the homesickness it provoked. But that might have been because it tasted foul. It was nice to be reminded about home by something that wasn't the bloody Corrs! Those guys are huge in Thailand. I wish I was joking but I'm not...
I have recently been honoured enough to have been given a Thai name. Its Kao- Neaw (Cow Nee- Ow). It means "Sticky Rice". Ok, its not exactly flattering, but its still an honour. I think...

I woke up with this on my arm. It appears to be permanent. MUM DONT LOOK!!!!!
Ok that's all for now folks. Amanda and Emma arrive in mere days (hours??) and there are preparations to be made!!
It's been a while!
Sorry for the slight delay in an update, but what the joe (TM Miss Downey!). So here goes! Things are going very well (despite Simons minor illness) and we're having a great, if mildly lazy, time here. A couple of days ago we visited a wee island just on the outskirts of BKK called Ko Kret. A great day was had by all! So, I'll get straight into it, what you guys want. TEH PHOTOS!
Photo number one. Bangkok city, a street vendor walks the highways...

Photo number two and three. On the boat to Ko Kret! Simon is a GANGSTA and I am the LEADER. Or something.

Photo number four. Riverside homes on the way to Ko Kret. Made of wood. Thamk Buddha for Ronseal!

Photo number five. The restaurant in Ko Kret where we had lunch. Or, more specifically, the view from the window.

Photo number six. The plane. On an Island. With no runway. IT'S A MUSEUM STUPID!

Photo number seven. The accident! Simon was shaving his head. And WHOOPS, there went his beard! See how daft he looks? As daft as a bald brush! I have sugggested that he spend a spell as a monk, but I don't think je could hear anything through the tears he was crying for his beard...

Anyway, It's been nice having you around! Drop by more often and maybe I'll give you a biscuit!

About texting...
Some of you have texted us and not received a reply recently. We are getting your texts, but please remember that it costs us significantly more to text you back than for you to text us! If you have any questions about S.E. Asia, then we can only really reply via email because there is so much to say!
I'm not asking you guys NOT to text us, quite the opposite! We just don't want anyone offended if/when we don't reply. Also, we both tend to leave our phones off for the majority of the time, so there will always be a delay in the message being delivered - for urgent news please email or leave a comment on this blog!

Its the Farang New Year!
We started the day by visiting Sari Buri, a place that has SEVEN waterfalls with names like "One Virgin Falls", "Two Virgin Falls" et cetera. We went there on a local bus, which are great!

We enjoyed the journey greatly!

The place was very relaxing. I was kinda shocked when I saw Simon CONTEMPLATING. I swear, this is the ONLY photo I have of the guy where he's not looking daft...

Or maybe I was bemused? (Check out the amount of Thai folk in the background. Seriously, we were (except for one dude and his wife) the only Farang in the park!)

We got the train back to Ayuthhya, this is Nok looking into the future, looking into 2006, or waiting for a train. YOU DECIDE!

Then, of course, there is the insanity of New Year! There are a lot of photos, but I think this is best. The dude on the left is like a Chinese Michael Markey, seriously (although obviously not as awesome!).

Well, we had a great New Year and we're really looking forward to Amanda and Emma and Rachel joining us this side of 2006. The next update will be better, I promise, I'm just really, really hot now! It will have better pictures of Thailand! I swear!
Hope you all managed to have a fantastic New Year where ever you all were on the day!
